I got this to replace a parts bin handguard I bubba'd while drunk to make my silencer fit. I needed an exactly 7" handguard.
- Shipping was somewhat fast, but I didn't care much
- It is true to 7" size
- The kit has no instructions
- The barrel nut is an interesting design. It has tapped holes all around the nut. The torque surface is abnormal. I had to use a skinny crescent wrench. It came with shims for the nut, which did not inspire confidence, but I did not need any.
- The finish is great.
- Although tight, the gas tube is not touched by the handguard, very close to the barrel nut. You will get better clearance with a longer than 7.5" barrel.
- The handguard attaches to the nut with screws on bottom and sides. Mine were perfectly aligned, but this may be where shims help time **** holes.
- The sides seemed to squish in slightly, so after aligning the top rail, i just alternated half turns on the screws until complete.
Would purchase again.
