I purchased this scope too mount on my Marlin 1895 G 45/70, it mounted in my rings quite secure after lapping, and I also used red locktite on the inside of the rings to preclude movement while firing.
Until I take it too the range and fire it, I can't speak as to if it will hold up to the heavy recoil.

Holds zero. Adjustments are precise. Eye relief is crazy long, close to a foot. This would be fine for a scout rifle certainly not for an AR w/ a collapsible stock or a compact hunting rifle. It has a 30mm tube that is like looking through a drinking straw at high magnification if you are less than 10-12 inches away.
